Seminar day 1

CLINICAL DIAGNOSIS: GETTING STUCK IN ONE PART OF THE EXPERIENCE

Process- oriented approach to psychopathology, anxiety and depression

Clinical diagnosis may be both relieving and imprisoning. For some people naming their problem is the beginnig of hope. For some, it sounds like a court sentence. This seminar will show the process-oriented perspective on clinical diagnosis.

Thanks to psychopathology we have a lot of knowledge about difficult aspects  of human experience. While the knowledge itself is valuable and important, it is the attitude and the way of working that distinguish Process Work from classical diagnostic thinking. During the workshop we will discuss the adavtages and disadvantages of clinical diagnosis from the process-oriented point of view.

Out of many clinical cathegories, we will focus on depression and anxiety in its different forms. Moreover, we will show basic guideliness for understanding and working with anxiety and depression. We will also present the concept of City Shadows and the role of the field/ community/ society in creating/healing difficult states of consciousness.

Seminar day 2

WORKING WITH TRAUMA IN A PROCESS-ORIENTED WAY.

Process Work has developed a specific, clear procedure of working with trauma. There are some clear steps that serve as guidlines for taking into account different aspects of the whole situation. At the same time, the main way of working is to follow the specific and unique process of each individual.

The procedure includes not only working with memory and connected emotions, but also looking for the energies, reactions or support, that was missing at the traumatic moment, and now can be found in the Dreamland and integrated into future life.  There is also a special focus on the meta-skills: not only the „what” to do, but the „how” of the work.

The seminar will include the following:

-        process oriented theory of trauma;

-        the field aspects of working with past traumatic events;

-        metaskills of listening to the traumatic memories;

-        working for the missing reaction and energy towards the transformation of the roles.
